In the present moment at the Museum of Modern art (MUMOK) in Vienna is at view the exhibition “Gender Check, investigating femininity and masculinity in Eastern European art since the 1960s,” initiated by the Erste Foundation. The exhibition Gender check imposes a neo colonial logic by Western Europe on the former Eastern Europe. Therefore Ana Hoffner and Ivana Marjanovic in collaboration with VBKÖ, Vienna, and supported by PCAP, initiated a counter project (workshop with exhibition) with the title “Check Instead: the Colonial Matrix of Power!”.
